The Dead Lands

General Knowledge

No one is absolutely sure what caused of the Dead Lands.  Some scholars believe an ancient, evil sorcery was awakened by a powerful wizard.  The present is now paying the cost of his folly.  Other sages hold the belief that The War is responsible for the condition of the territory.  In particular, these sages argue the use of magic in large battles is to blame.  That so many deaths brought about by arcane spells has tainted the land.  (This view is held to be most true by Southerners.)  Reguardless of how it came to be, the Dead Lands are a dangerous place for the living.

Cities

The Dead Lands were once populated by both the North and the South.  Several cities and fortresses now lie wasting away in the natural (and unnatural) elements—abandended cities.  The roads into these cities have grown over.  This makes travel to them difficult without a skilled guide.

Game Rules

Unhallowed ground is everywhere.
